Early Life, Family & Education:

Vidyut Jammwal was born on 10 December 1980 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is now 40 years old. He was brought up in Jammu & Kashmir, in a Dogra Rajput family. His family and friends use to call him ‘Singu’.   His father was an Indian Army office. Hence, he is one of three youngest children born to an Indian Army officer family. He lived in various parts of India due to his father’s regular transfers.  At the age of three, he started Martial Arts.  He traveled to numerous countries preparing with martial artists in various forms.

After a few years acquire a degree in martial arts, he made a trip to more than 25 countries, where he performed many live-action shows. In the year 2000, he participated as a contestant in Gladrags and has been living in Mumbai from the beginning. Since the year of 1996 he was a model in Delhi, but after a dismal career in modeling, landed his debut role in a Telugu movie, Shakti. After his first audition in the Bollywood industry, he landed his first role in a Bollywood movie in Nishikant Kamat’s Force.

Career:

Jammwal started his acting career in the year of 2011, with the Bollywood movie Force. He made his Bollywood debut with John Abraham. It was a remake of the Tamil-language film Kaakha Kaakha. He played a negative role in the film, for which he won the Filmfare Award in the categories of ‘Best Male Debut’ and  ‘Most Promising Debut for 2012’. After the huge success of the movie ‘Force’, in the same year, he worked in a Telugu film ‘Shakti’. He got multiple negative roles in various action films later.

He made his Tollywood debut with Billa II, as the antagonist opposite Ajith Kumar which earned him critical appreciation. This year, he played the antagonist in Thuppakki opposite actor Vijay, which became a blockbuster.

His next Bollywood movie Commando’ is one of his hit movies with which he earned a lot of popularity in the South Indian Cinema. This movie mainly belongs to Vidyut Jammwal and the liberty of watching him crushing everything. By doing the action stunts without a body double or cables, he fits into the definition of Country’s Next Gen action hero without a hitch.

In the year of 2016, he was seen in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s music videos ‘Tumhe Dillagi’ of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and ‘Gal Ban Gayi’ of Neha Kakkar, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Meet Bros,  and Sukhbir.

In July 2013, this film was showcased worldwide for the first time at the Fantasia Film Fest in Montreal. Jammwal received massive positive feedback from international media. After the huge success of Commando movie, he played a sharpshooter cop in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Bullett Raja. Jamal played as a co-actor positive role in the Tamil-language film Anjaan, alongside Suriya in 2014.

In 2017, he get a chance in Commando 2, the next chapter of Commando, which became a box office success. His next released movie Baadshaho, in which he played Army Officer Major Seher Singh, did average business throughout the world. American Movie director Chuck Russell’s first Bollywood film Junglee and Commando 3 was started by Jammwal.

He kicked- off an initiative to teach self-defense techniques to college-going girls and working professionals. In 2014, he hosted a camp at a college festival in Mumbai.

 

Personal Life:

Vidyut Jammwal was born in a Hindu Rajput Army officer’s family. His father passed away when he was a child. His mother’s name is Vimla Jammwal, former Miss Jammu & Kashmir. He has a younger sister. He was in a relationship with famous Television star Mona Singh but they both broke up their relationship.
